WE GLOW UP / OUR OWN DEVELOPMENT

A 3D design example:
six-compartment organiser.

We Glow Up developed this six-compartment tray from a measured brief into a checked digital CAD design. It demonstrates our design process and has not been printed.

THE BRIEF

Six spaces. One simple tray.

We set an overall size of 120 × 80 × 24 mm, with three columns and two rows. The walls and base are designed at 2.4 mm thick. Each compartment has approximately 36.8 × 36.4 mm of internal space and a depth of 21.6 mm.

This is a synthetic example created for our own studio development. It is not a customer commission or a completed physical product.

Start with dimensions

The brief defines overall size, compartment count, wall thickness and base thickness in millimetres. These are the requirements we check the design against.

Check the exported file

We reopened the exported STL and checked its actual geometry. The outer dimensions measured 120 × 80 × 24 mm. It is one connected, closed mesh with positive volume.

Prepare useful files

The digital draft includes an STL mesh, technical views and a dimension summary. The files are reviewed before any customer delivery; file formats and revisions are agreed in the project scope.

Digital checks passed.

  1. Correct outer size120 × 80 × 24 mm after export and reopening.
  2. One closed meshA single connected component with no open mesh boundaries.
  3. Volume cross-check56,798.22 mm³, matching the calculated design volume within the check tolerance.
  4. Still a digital draftPhysical fit, strength and print quality have not been tested.

What this example shows

Can you adapt this to my space?

Tell us the overall dimensions, what you want to store and how many compartments you need. We will review the brief and agree suitable dimensions, files, revisions and checks before work starts.

Does this mean the first print is guaranteed to fit?

No. These checks establish properties of the digital file. Physical fit, material choice and printing conditions need a separate review or test sample where appropriate.

Can I ask for a different type of design?

Yes. Share a sketch, measurements and intended use through the enquiry form. We assess each project individually; this organiser demonstrates one simple design workflow.
